Publications Press Inc. announced that a nearly $1.3 million capital investment in new equipment lead to about 15 new jobs. The company’s advanced printing press equipment provided an incentive for Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. (CNHI) to move its printing operations last year from a Texas printer to Publications Press in 2013. That created the need for 15 jobs.
“Because of CNHI’s decision, our business has grown, allowing us to expand personnel,” Harvey Starling, president of Publications Press, said in a statement.
The company, which publishes and prints real estate magazines throughout the Southeast, is also a full-service commercial printer with customers across the country. Tri-County Homes, which serves communities in the River Region, is among its many real estate magazines.
Publications Press was founded in Montgomery in 1998 by William (Bill) D. Johnson. It began with eight employees in a 6,500 square foot warehouse and has grown to more than 70,000 square feet in three buildings with 65-plus employees.
